| Hello reader Happy New Year. I hope you have a healthy and fulfilling one with lots of delicious food thrown in for good measure. We spent Christmas at home in Cornwall. We were dreading the drive down, but we must have timed it well as the roads weren't nearly as busy as we feared. How was your Christmas? Now the season of overeating and general indulgence is over, I'm taking part in Veganuary once again. I do it every year. If you're not in the know, it's bascially going vegan for the month of January. Much more fun than dry January. However, this week's recipe is not a vegan one, though I hasten to add I made and ate it last year, so I have not broken my vegan diet. It's an easy cake to make and it uses up that annoying bit of advocaat left in the bottle now all the toasts are finished. Surely you have some?
If not, just skip down to the bottom of the newsletter to see which recipes my readers were interested in last year. They are not all vegan by any means. I've baked this leftover advocaat cake as a traybake and have topped it with cream cheese icing. It's very nice. Advocaat is in both the sponge and topping. Having said that, if you prefer something plainer, the cake stands up quite nicely on its own. Popular posts last January include: Keep cooking and stay safe.

P.S. Please do let me know if you make any of my recipes and remember to star rate them. It really helps to make them more visible on search engines. I especially appreciate questions or feedback via comments on the blog posts. |
