Konnichiwa! It's getting colder everyday here in Tasmania so my day always starts with lighting the wood stove. I've been needing warm and comforting dishes like the ever-popular Loco Moco donburi. But for those in the northern hemisphere, cold and refreshing food like somen noodles is just what you need!

Mochi turned 1 year old! Happy birthday Mochi! She was treated with a puppy cake made from dog friendly ingredients. She shared her cake with me and it was yummy even for human beings 🤣. Her unhappy face in the photo is probably due to having to wait for me to finish singing happy birthday to her. I'm sure she'll like me to cut that short next year when she gets to enjoy this once a year special treat again.
