The Office of Aging and Disability Services (OADS) invites you to learn about and share your thoughts on the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program and Legal Assistance. OADS will hold a public listening session on Thursday, September 15, at 2 PM EST via Zoom. The listening session will contain two parts: Part 1 will cover the Department's Legal Assistance program and current rule, 10-149 C.M.R. Ch. 5, Section 64. Legal Assistance provides legal services to older adults to access long-term care options and other community-based services, as well as to protect older adults against challenges to their independence, choice and financial security. Part 2 will cover the Department's State Long-Term Care Ombudsman program and the creation of a new rule. The State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program investigates complaints of rights violations received on behalf of individuals receiving long-term care services in the community or residential/institutional settings. The agenda for both parts of the listening session is as follows: - Overview of the Program
- Overview of Policy Proposal
- Public Feedback
