This coming month we'll see the first day of spring and the promise of longer, sunnier days. ☀️ The start of a new season always gives me fresh baking inspiration. And, of course, this month I'll be baking my late grandmother's recipe for Irish Soda Bread.
But first, let's take a look at some of February's highlights.
This is my forever favoritered velvet cake. It's the sweet marriage of buttery, vanilla, and cocoa flavors, plus you get a delicious tang from buttermilk and cream cheese frosting. Follow the step-by-step directions and video tutorial for a moist, smooth, & velvety crumb.

"Honestly, this cake was OUTSTANDING. My daughter wanted red velvet cake for her birthday, she loves it in general but I've always been a little 'meh' about red velvet. Not so for this cake. It was incredible!! It was a hands down wow moment when tasting, and my daughter has been obsessed with it. It really came through for her special day, I would make this again in a heartbeat, it is absolutely going in the showstopper recipe category. SOOOO GOOD! ★★★★★" - Brittany

Here's what 2 participants said about the Chocolate Tarts:
"This recipe is one of my new favorites – as Sally suggests, it is an intermediate recipe with a few parts and cooling in between them all, so they take a little while. That being said, they are well worth the effort! They are incredibly chocolatey without being overly sweet or overly rich. The crust is delightfully flaky and the fudge filling and icing are fantastic. Definitely a keeper!★★★★★" - Kristen
"Incredible! These were so incredibly delicious and easy to make! I made the dough a couple days ahead of time and the filling the day I made them. I loved how flaky the pastry was. I was actually worried I'd overworked the crust, but the lamination was amazing, you could see all the layers! Don't even get me started on the flavor of the filling! It tasted exactly like a Molten Lava Cake!! I know I'll be making these again!!!! ★★★★★" - Suzanna

Making homemade yeasted bread can be fussy and complicated, but this no-knead honey oat bread recipe is straightforward and simple while still delivering delicious, flavorful results. You don't even need a mixer. I love it with homemade honey butter!
"Wow! This was delicious! Followed recipe exactly and everyone loved this. I can't wait to make it again. Also, I really like the smaller size, otherwise, I'd eat WAY too much! Thank you so much! Looking forward to making lots more recipes from this website.★★★★★" - Julie
