6 super cheap meals to make when you're flat broke

Hey reader,

Yesterday kicked off Day 1 of our 5-day Meal Planning Made Easy challenge and I absolutely CANNOT WAIT to continue teaching later this morning.

Did you join the challenge? It's not too late to join us and catch up! We're talking about issues like:

  • Why meal planning feels so hard (and how to overcome the hurdle to reap the rewards every week)
  • How do you make time for meal planning? (create a system that works for YOU, every week, in just 15 minutes)
  • Where to find recipes and what to do with leftovers (so you never run out of ideas while throwing away less food)
  • How to stick with it for the long-run (Simple ways to get on and stay on the meal planning bandwagon)

"I've been meal planning for a few years now and it's gotten more difficult as time has gone on.
I need a NEW way of doing things!"

- Laura

"I have always struggled with meal planning & usually think of what to have for supper that morning. I would like to save some money, time & countless trips to the grocery store!"
- Polly

"I already meal prep but I'm sure there must be an easier and quicker way. I'm also a celiac and plant based so grocery shopping seems to cost me a fortune."
- Christine

Since you have some time before I go live at 11am ET, I wanted to share with you some thoughts on meal planning when you don't have much money to begin with.

There was a point in time when my husband and I had just $50 to feed my family of four. Those were trying times, but I learned so much about contentment and being creative in the kitchen!

First and foremost, you have to focus your attention on eating what you already have. From there, it's all about super cheap meals. Here are a few of those meals that we kept on rotation during those lean times:

The only way we were able to make that $50 last all week was by meal planning THE HECK out of the food we had in the pantry.

Meal planning isn't something you're born knowing how to do - it's a learned skill. Enrollment for my course Meal Planning Bootcamp opens in a few days, and if you've ever struggled with meal planning, you'll want to pay attention to your inbox.

In the meantime, join the free challenge that's going on right now. I promise you'll walk away with tips to get started, and tricks to keep up the meal planning efforts all year long!
