OADS has updated the Re-Opening Guidance for In-Person Services effective February 2, 2021.  The newly updated document can be found on the OADS website Guidance 2-2-2021

This guidance now allows providers of Community Support, Work Support and Career Planning to:

  • Follow the 14 Day Positivity Rate Map. If a County is Low (green) or Moderate (yellow), providers may decide if they want to resume in-person services.
  • Reminds all providers that vaccination does NOT change the need to practice COVID-19 safety precautions.  All personnel and individuals attending in person services must continue to wear masks and follow social distance guidelines.
  • Requires a signed Provider Assurance Form to offer in person services. However, submission of a Provider Assurance Form is only required if you have NOT previously submitted one to OADS.
  • Allows for telehealth to continue and provide services up to 6 people with one staff at a time through the Appendix K Amendment.

For Individuals Receiving Services and Families:

  • COVID-19 continues to spread in Maine. When and if you return to in person services is a personal decision and should be made by comparing the risks and benefits of returning. The Group Services Risk/Benefit Guide was designed to help you think through this decision.
  • For assistance with next steps please reach out to your Case Manager/Care Coordinator.

For Case Managers/Care Coordinators:

  • Please continue to use the Group Services Risk/Benefit Guide to help individuals, their families, and other service team members weigh the pros and cons of returning to in person services, and make the decision that is best for each individual.
  • Please reach out to those you support to determine their level of interest in resuming in person services. Reference the COVID-19 Person Centered Planning FAQ (Question 1/6)  for guidance regarding how to update the Person Centered Plan the person chooses to resume in person services.
