STATS FOR STORIES (SFS)

 Today is National Pizza Day and National Bagel Day. Thursday is National Inventors' Day. Friday is Chinese New Year (updating soon). Sunday is Valentine's Day. Monday is Presidents' Day (updating soon) and Singles Awareness Day. February is American Heart Month.

 


Pizza Bagel

National Pizza Day and National Bagel Day: February 9

The 2012 Economic Census counted 48,782 "establishments with principal menu type of pizza" led by 4,272 in Calif., 3,485 in New York state and 2,950 in Texas.

National Inventors' Day: February 11

Innovations by the U.S. Census Bureau led to the IBM Corporation, statistical sampling, the first commercial electronic computer and geographic information systems.

Valentine's Day: February 14

According to the 2019 American Community Survey, 49.1% of men and 46.3% of women 15 years and over are now married. Never married are 37.1% men and 30.8% women.

Singles Awareness Day: February 15

The 2020 Annual Social and Economic Supplement reports about 126.9 million total unmarried (never married, divorced, and widowed) people in America ages 15 and older.

American Heart Month: February

The 2019 American Community Survey estimated there were 698,316 physicians, 107,710 physician assistants, 19,421 radiologists and 48,495 surgeons in the U.S.
