During the first quarter of each year, exporters and importers of PIC chemicals are required to give HSE, the PIC Designated National Authority (DNA,) information on the exact quantities of each chemical (as a substance and as contained in mixtures or articles) exported or imported during the preceding year. This is in accordance with Article 10 of the PIC Regulation. This year will be the final year for GB-based companies to report exports and imports that were subject to the EU PIC Regulation. From 2022, companies in Great Britain will submit their annual tonnage reports to HSE in accordance with GB PIC and companies in Northern Ireland will submit theirs to HSENI under the EU PIC Regulation. We are asking companies to provide us with details of the quantities of PIC chemicals they exported or imported during 2020 using the templates available on our website at GB PIC: annual reporting of exports and imports - HSE. You should report the quantities of PIC chemicals that you exported from the UK or imported into the UK during 2020. Reporting does not need to include 2020 exports to or imports from EU countries as these were not subject to the PIC Regulation. Please note that 2020 Special RIN requests for exports in quantities not exceeding 10kg per year to each importing country for purposes of research or analysis are exempted from the reporting obligation and so do not need to be included. We will publish non-confidential data, anonymised and aggregated, on our website later in the year. Please send your completed templates to ukdna@hse.gov.uk no later than 31st March 2021. Thank you for your cooperation, GB PIC DNA |
