⭐️NEW ⭐️How to make rice on stovetop!

My latest post is about how to make Korean Rice on the stovetop in regular pots, in stone pots (dolsot) and then also in pressure cookers + rice cookers. 

Now, you may wonder.. Why would anyone make rice on the stovetop when you have electric rice cookers or pressure cookers? Sure, good point.

 

I talk about this in more detail but the biggest reason is you don't need to buy fancy expensive rice cookers if you learn how to make rice on the stovetop. The 2nd reason is that stovetop (especially stone pot) results in yummier rice than rice cookers - according to a group of 400 Koreans randomly surveyed. And most important reason of all, you get Nurungji (burnt rice)πŸ”₯ when you make it this way!

Ok, so here are some rice bowls you can make with the rice you made. Bibimbap, Bulgogi + Fresh veggies, Hoedoepbap (sashimi rice) and more.

Here's what I cooked this week so far - I did also cook some Pasta with Pesto and Balsamic Chicken which is def. not Korean. πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

Did you know this is part of my 3-in-1 Kimchi Pork Freezer recipe? You can season & saute kimchi and pork then freeze it. Then you can make Kimchi Jjigae, Kimchi Fried Rice and this yummy dish with it.

I don't make this as often as I would like because it takes a few steps but when I do, I make a large batch so we can have leftovers. And when you are busy, you can make this your main dish and not a side dish.

Make Spicy Squid Stir-Fry and top a plate of rice and make it a meal - serve a side of yellow pickled radish (Danmuji) and it will be simple but perfect!

 

The Ram-Don noodles are a mix of Jjapaghetti μ§œνŒŒκ²Œν‹° and Neoguri λ„ˆκ΅¬λ¦¬ instant noodles topped with some fancy cut of beef. This dish was catapulted to fame with the release of the South Korean movie Parasite where it was made with very expensive Korean Hanwoo Beef. My recipe uses sirloin and I also added green onions which really nicely adds freshness to the dish!
