Changes to how you sign in to Companies House servicesGOV.UK One Login will soon become the main way to sign in to the Find and update company information service. The account you use to sign in to this service is called your Companies House account. If you already have a Companies House account, you can continue using your existing sign-in details for now, but new users will need to sign in using GOV.UK One Login.
Companies House prosecutes hundreds of non-compliant directorsBetween January and June 2026, Companies House prosecuted hundreds of directors for non-filing offences. 23 directors were disqualified for persistent or serious non-compliance with filing requirements. Courts issued directors with fines totalling £17,810. This included £15,600 for non-filing of accounts and £2,200 for non-filing of confirmation statements.
Filing information with Companies House From no earlier than November 2027, new restrictions will mean companies can only file information through an identity-verified officer or employee, or an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP). This will make it clearer who is filing information on the register. We will give at least 6 months’ notice before this requirement comes into effect.
