February is the time when most people start losing steam on their New Year’s goals.

In fact, 80% of people give up on their New Year’s resolution by February 1st. (Today)

The following exercise is simple and takes just 10 minutes:

Write out what your life looks like two months from now when you've stayed committed to eating clean, healthy, delicious meals every day.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • How do you feel when you wake up in the morning? Picture it: you open your eyes feeling energized, confident, and fully in control of your day, no longer dragging yourself out of bed or dreading the to-do list.
  • What do you see when you look in the mirror? Do you see the strong, vibrant, healthy version of yourself you’ve been working toward?
  • How do your friends and family react to the ‘new’ you? Are they inspired by the changes you’ve made? Do they notice how much happier, energetic, or confident you are?
  • What activities are you able to enjoy now that you couldn’t before? Maybe it's taking a daily 30-minute walk, completing a 5K, being more productive at work, playing with your kids without getting winded, feeling strong in your workouts, or finally feeling like “you” again.
  • How has achieving your goal impacted other areas of your life? Do you feel more fulfilled, more at peace, more connected to the person you want to be?

The point is to connect to the future version of yourself and really feel it.

Not just the “goal” itself, but the deeper reason you set that goal in the first place.

Because when you can connect to that version of you…

Staying motivated is easier, even when life gets in the way.

So take 10 minutes today and try this exercise.
