Ninety-nine percent of the women who come to me for nutrition coaching don't know what to eat.
I mean, they know they need food…
- But what about protein? How much do they need? What kind is best?
- What about fruit? Does it have too much sugar?
- Are carbs good or bad? Can they still have bread and rice?
- What if they don't like vegetables? Or only like them cooked certain ways?
- And the elephant in the room *gasp* - dessert!! Can they have cookies and cake?
Inside NOURISHED+STRONG, you'll learn quickly that no food is off-limits.
You can have literally whatever you want (minus allergies of course) and there's no such thing as "good" food or "bad" food.
Once they pick their jaw up off the floor, we talk about creating healthy boundaries that allow us to enjoy the foods we love, but still meet the goals we set for ourselves.
Building a plate packed with foods you enjoy AND foods give you energy means being consistent in the long-run, and THAT is what will help you meet your goals (not being perfect every day).
Here's a simplified version of my How To Build a Plate lesson:
- Start with protein. The quantity depends on your macros for the day and/or that meal.
- Then add produce. Every meal should have two servings.
- Next, add starches. Use up the rest of your carbs on the starches. (psst! Some starches count for produce too!)
- Finally, top off with fats. Because some protein has fat and you may cook with fat, it's always the last macro to get filled.
Remember - no food is off-limits!
