WHO estimates that some 25% of all deaths in the European region can be linked to four major industries: tobacco, alcohol, processed food, and fossil fuels. Act now.” aims to raise awareness of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and promote actions to reduce the emergence and spread of drug-resistant infections. AMR threatens to unwind a century of medical progress. It claims over a million lives annually, with projections showing the death toll could rise, especially in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). For further information, or to request an interview: mediainquiries@who.int 19-21 November Innovation at the Forefront: From knowledge transfer to mRNA products and technologies that tackle endemic diseases in LMICs Hybrid-format meeting of the mRNA Technology Transfer Programme, Cape Town, South Africa and online The progress and the impact of the mRNA Technology Transfer Programme, launched in July 2021, will be reviewed in this meeting hosted by the South African mRNA Partners.
