Article Icon 1Hurricane Center Monitoring Potential Storm

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is monitoring an area of interest in the western Caribbean Sea, where a broad area of low pressure could form and potentially impact Florida.

Current storm models indicate a possible path toward the state, though it is too early to predict the exact track of this disturbance.

The NHC reports that environmental conditions appear conducive to the system's gradual development after the low forms in the coming days. As it moves westward, a tropical depression could take shape late this week or this weekend.

The seven-day formation chance was at 80% on Tuesday. The upcoming storm will be named Sara.
