Hi reader!
One of my favorite hacks to avoid food waste is freezing baby spinach or kale when they're about to go bad in the fridge.
Once frozen, the leaves become brittle and you can essentially shatter them into dishes like soups, stir fries — and my Best Ever Green Smoothie.
Here's what you need to know about this smoothie that makes it The Best Ever™:
- It's a salad in a glass yet tastes like a tropical smoothie.
- If you don't believe me, click over to the post to see a photo of my (then) toddler chugging one.
- You can make freezer packs so a healthy smoothie is ready to blend when you're craving one.
Because — as reader Tuli shares below — this smoothie truly is better than fresh watermelon on a hot day. It is fresh, refreshing, and truly craveable!

Reader Tuli says: "...this was the best thing I have ever put in my mouth…ever. I mean, better than dessert, better than fresh watermelon on a hot day – Just amazing. I was really hesitant to try it at first but when I saw the photo you posted of your kid drinking it down, I figured if a kid likes it (rare that children like bitter vegetables like spinach or kale), it must be worth trying. AMAZING."
