Happy New Year folks! Hope you're having a great first week. 🤗🤗 I'm on a spree to get healthier with my cooking this year! And no I'm not talking about skimping on good healthy fats like ghee, butter or cream - I'm talking about consciously choosing healthier mediums of cooking wherever I can. One appliance that's really changed the game for me is an Air Fryer! Think of an air fryer as a small oven - the benefit it has over a regular oven is the size. It's more compact and works by rapidly circulating hot air inside it. This hot air helps cook the food and can even make foods crispy using very little oil. I'm on a path to figure out how to incorporate more air fryer recipes into my daily cooking routine. But for now, I'm sharing a few tips on how to make the most of your air fryer:
Avoid overcrowding the tray and make sure to place the food in a single layer. This will make sure the food is cooked evenly and prevent it from turning soggy. To avoid the food from burning, take the tray out and check the food for progress, after a few minutes This isn't always necessary, flipping the food at least once in the middle of the cooking process will really help cook it evenly and ensure that it turns out nice and crispy. Air fryer gives the crispiest results when the food is dry. So make sure to pat the food dry with a clean kitchen towel to get rid of any excess moisture before popping it into the air fryer. I have a whole detailed post on Air Fryers - everything you'll need if you have one or if you're looking to invest in one. Click on the link below :) |
