Day 6 πŸ‘‰ Berry Lemon Smoothie πŸ“πŸ‹

Welcome to day 6 of the smoothie challenge! You're over halfway through. The smoothie that we're making today is this Berry Lemon Smoothie. I think this one would be a top pick if summer has a smoothie. It's sweet, tangy, and so refreshing. It's very kid-friendly, and it's great for a beginner.

Since this smoothie is lighter, you can add protein powder or collagen to it for extra substance. A tablespoon of almond butter is also tasty.

Or plan for a morning snack like these energy balls, hummus, carrots, or hard-boiled eggs.

I love raspberries in this smoothie, but you can swap in all strawberries or any favorite berry. And it's also delicious with lime juice.

Shopping tips

I haven't found bulk bags of frozen raspberries at grocery stores or wholesale stores. However, you can purchase frozen organic raspberries for a fraction of the price of fresh, so grab them from the freezer section.

Lemons are also much cheaper to purchase in bulk. If you're not going to use them all, then freeze the lemon juice into portions or in smoothie freezer kits for later.

Also, don't forget about Aldis; you can usually find great prices on frozen fruit, greens, and even some super foods there.

Smoothie tips

Do smoothies need ice?

I do not add ice to smoothies because I always use frozen fruits. If you are using fresh fruits, you'll need ice to get the cold consistency you want; I recommend using frozen fruits because adding ice waters down the smoothie.
