I thought I was broken.

I could not break free from eating foods with sugar and refined carbs.

Every Monday I would vow not to eat anything with sugar. And every Monday evening I would give in.

Packaged, processed snack foods consumed my days, it's all I wanted to eat. I was out of control, but unable to stop.

I was depressed and falling deeper into a pit of despair. I had lost any hope I could be successful and be at a healthy weight for me.

But then, one day a friend suggested a program that for 6 weeks I would remove all white refined sugar and flour products and get back to whole foods.

I thought it would be unbearable, but also impossible.

But I gave one last effort and hope that maybe I could do this with the support of my friend.

And that was 2006 and I have never looked back. I lost the weight, but not only that, I lost that addiction I once had to sugar and refined carbs.
