Happy Saturday, friends! I hope you've had a great week and new year so far. This week we celebrated Sidney's birthday and I can't believe he's already 2 years old! He's such a sweet, funny, smart boy and we've loved every second of watching him grow up. The team and I also planned something SO fun that we'll be launching for all of you at the beginning of February, and we cannot wait to share. Keep an eye out on Instagram and in your inbox, and get ready to join the party! Lastly, I get tons of questions about which of my recipes have no added sugars, how to use alternative sweeteners, etc. I love to cook and bake using unrefined sweeteners like honey, maple syrup and coconut sugar (rather than using sweeteners like stevia), but I also have a wonderful selection of breakfast & snack recipes that have no sugar added! I shared these last year and they were a huge hit, so I thought January would be the perfect time for a little refresh of them.
What does no sugar added mean?
According to the FDA, a food with "no added sugars" cannot be processed with any sugar or sugar-containing ingredients but can contain naturally occurring sugar like bananas and fruit. The recipes below get their sweetness from fruit only! Some of them have chocolate chips but feel free to omit them if you'd like to keep the recipe completely free of added sugars.
