Small Business Pulse Survey Updates: Phase 7 See Data Tables Please note that next week we will conclude Phase 7 of the Small Business Pulse Survey. Phase 8 is tentatively planned for mid-February. Based on responses collected January 3 through January 9, 2022, the Small Business Pulse Survey estimates that: - U.S. small businesses requiring employee COVID-19 vaccination (14.4%) and a negative COVID-19 test (13.1%) before physically coming to work in the last week were both at all-time highs.

33.0% of U.S small businesses experienced a decrease in revenues in the last week. For responses collected 12/27/21-1/2/22, this statistic was 30.4%. -
21.7% of U.S small businesses experienced a moderate decrease in demand for their goods or services compared to what was normal pre-3/13/20. For responses collected 12/27/21-1/2/22, this statistic was 20.7%. -
42.4% of U.S small businesses experienced domestic supplier delays and 17.4% experienced foreign supplier delays in the last week. For responses collected 12/27/21-1/2/22, these statistics were 43.3% and 18.4% respectively. -
29.6% of U.S. manufacturing small businesses expect to make a capital expenditure in the next 6 months. The national average for this statistic was 16.4%. -
14.6% of U.S. health care and social assistance small businesses experienced a decrease in the number of paid employees in the last week. For responses collected 12/27/21-1/2/22, this statistic was 12.8%. |
