Office of Aging and Disability Services Virtual Listening Session
 9817, ARP Innovation Pilot Grants

 

The Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Aging and Disability Services is hosting a virtual listening session to gather input on providing the public with American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds to create innovative pilot projects in alignment with Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) goals.   

This grant funding will allow grant recipients to implement projects outside the scope of MaineCare services. Grant funds must be used to supplement and not supplant existing state funds expended for MaineCare HCBS.

Applicants must provide the Department with a strong sustainability and evaluation plan in alignment with HCBS to demonstrate the goals of the project and how those goals will be measured and evaluated. Each project is expected to last for 18 months. Some examples of projects could include:

All are welcome to attend. To register, please use the link below. Interpreter services will be provided during the listening session.  Written comments may also be submitted to scott.carter@maine.gov until Friday, February 18, 2022.

 To support this discussion, we would like participants to consider feedback on the following:

  • Ideas for submitting proposals (website portal, paper, etc.…)
  • $500,000 Caps on grant amounts
  • Should we provide preference for projects submitted by MaineCare providers or other preference criteria (geographic diversity of project, minority owned providers, etc.),
  • Any other eligibility criteria we should consider for applicants?
  • If the Department receives more applications than available funding, do you have suggestions for how the Department should prioritize applications?
