Weekly Meal Plan & Exercise Routine (December 6th, 2021)

organize yourself skinny

Hey there reader!

Where does the time go?! I can't believe we're already into the first week of December - 2022 will be here before we know it.

So, currently, my brain is in three different modes:

  • Decorate for the holidays.
  • Shop for Christmas gifts.
  • Plan for 2022.

I'm hoping to finish decorating today and Christmas gifts by the end of the week so both I can remove from my brain. I can focus on other things, like what OYS looks like for 2022 and what I look like (mentally, emotionally, and physically) for 2022.

Over the next couple of weeks, I will spend a lot of time thinking about both of these things and working on a plan.

You may or may not know, but I started Organize Yourself Skinny in 2011 (10 years ago), and much has changed in the last decade. So much!

And I spent the last year working on all of these changes - from the backend technical stuff that you never see but still so crucial to upgrading 100s of recipes and blog posts.

It's been a beast of a task, and I still have a ton to do, but I'm finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I know all of this work will make OYS one of the top healthy lifestyle resources. I'll share more about my plans later in the month.

So what about me? In 2021 I spent a tremendous amount of time working - I didn't take any significant time off to recharge my batteries. I don't mind hard work, but I often felt behind the eight ball because it seemed there was always something throwing me for a loop. I felt like I was constantly rushing...which I was.

My goal is to prioritize time off and a vacation or two in the upcoming year. Of course, to do this, I need to work ahead, prioritizing my work schedule.

So over the next couple of weeks, I'll be planning my entire content calendar along with putting in place systems so my business can work without me grinding at it 24/7.

I also went back and forth with exercise this year. Some weeks I got in 4 days while others, I barely exercised two.

In 2020 I was exercising religiously 4-5 times a week. Well, at the end of 2020, my daughter got Covid, and it threw off my routine - and that's how I started 2021.

It wasn't easy to get back on track. We also had a death in the family, which resulted in inheriting another dog. He's excellent, but it threw my routine again, and it's been an adjustment.

Anyway, my goal is to get back into a consistent exercise routine. Mentally, I feel so much better when I'm exercising 4-5 times a week, and of course, I look better, which also helps me feel better. So, regular exercise is a win all around.

I don't want this to be a super long email, so I'll talk more about my other personal goals in the next week or so.

Let's get to my weekly meal plan.

Here's my weekly meal plan.

If you are a Thrive Market customer, you can check out my healthy pantry staples list I have saved- including ingredients used in this meal plan. If you want to give Thrive Market a try, then here's 25% off your first order as a new subscriber. Please note to see my healthy pantry staples list, you need to log into your Thrive Market account before clicking the link.

Also, if you're looking for a great resource to purchase organic meats and seafood, I recommend checking out Butcher Box. I've been a subscriber since 2018 and just received my 16th box. In my opinion, their meat and seafood are superior. Butcher Box always has great deals going on. Currently, they're offering free bacon for life and $100 ($20 off your first 5 boxes) - that is a fantastic deal.

Exercise Schedule

The last couple of weeks have been tough sticking to my exercise routine. Between the holidays and just feeling burnt out, my motivation is at an all-time low. But I got in a good workout today, and I plan to keep it going all week.

Here's the exercise routine this week:

  • Monday - Cardio and entire toning routine (arms, legs, and core).
  • Tuesday – Cardio, arms, and core.
  • Wednesday – Cardio, legs, and core.
  • Thursday - Cardio, arms, and core.
  • Friday - Cardio, legs, and core.

I do 45 minutes on the treadmill for cardio, a combination of running and power-walking at inclines.

I do toning moves like bicep curls, tricep extensions, squats, lounges, and exercise moves like that for toning. I use 5 – 8lb weights.

I follow the exercise routines that I put together for the OYS eBook Bundle.

Weekly habits

Besides exercise and planning, here are the other habits I'm focusing on:

  • Smoothies and water - I plan to drink 4-5 smoothies a week and 64 ounces of water every day. In one of those 8-ounce glasses of water, I'm going to mix in collagen (I use the Thrive Market Brand)
  • I am not eating after 7:00 pm, like my version of intermittent fasting. After dinner, I've consumed all of my calories for the day, so any extra will just put me over and ruin my efforts.

Okay, that's my weekly meal plan, exercise routine, and habits.

I want these to be helpful, so please let me know if I can expand or add anything else.

Have a great week!

Talk to you soon.
