Our Favorite Breakfast Recipes for Christmas Morning!

organize yourself skinny

Hey there reader!

One of my favorite traditions is having breakfast ready before the kids get up. I love the idea of everyone waking up to delicious smells floating in the air.

When the kids are older, they aren't going to remember all the presents they got. Sure there might be a few highlights, but most of their memories will center around things like the food and smells of Christmas morning.

Today, I want to share our favorite Christmas breakfast recipes. As a bonus, you can make these recipes ahead of time!

I wake up before everyone else, but I certainly don't have time or energy to get breakfast made from scratch. So, having it ready the night before is essential to a homemade Christmas morning breakfast.

Some of my favorite breakfast recipes to make ahead of time are:

Homemade Cinnamon Rolls

Ooey gooey homemade cinnamon rolls are our number one Christmas breakfast tradition! I make the dough in the bread machine on Wednesday or Thursday, put the rolls together the night before, and then stick them in the oven on Christmas morning. Oh, the delicious aroma of cinnamon through the air.

Now I know Cinnamon Rolls aren't the healthiest food in the world, but they are more nutritious than the processed ones you'll find in the stores. Plus, I think it's okay to splurge a little on Christmas.

Overnight Breakfast Casserole with Sausage

This egg casserole is a complete breakfast in a dish! It includes hashbrowns, eggs, sausage, and veggies. If you prefer a vegetarian casserole, then check out this recipe.

Those are our go-to Christmas breakfast recipes.

Other "easy to make foods" I serve along with these two recipes are:

  • Yogurt, fruit, and granola - I put together a quick yogurt bowl bar.
  • Fruit bowl - our girls love having a selection of fresh fruit for breakfast, and it's a little pricey, but sometimes I purchase this at Whole Foods.
  • Bacon and sausage - What's a big breakfast without bacon and sausage!
  • Bagel flats, English muffins, and bread - I like to select pieces of bread, especially to go with the egg bakes.

I hope I have given you some good ideas for Christmas morning.

Talk to you soon.
