| Greyhound Crash Leaves 2 Dead, 30 Injured Two people died and around 30 were hospitalized after a Greyhound bus collided with a passenger vehicle on U.S. Highway 70 near Jackson, Tennessee, on Monday evening. The bus was traveling east from Memphis toward Nashville when the crash occurred around 6:30 p.m., according to the Madison County Fire Department. Authorities say the bus was carrying 32 passengers, a driver, and a relief driver. Emergency crews transported at least 27 injured to nearby hospitals, though Greyhound's parent company later said 30 were hospitalized, with most since released. Tennessee Highway Patrol and other agencies are investigating the cause. | Ogles Announces Probe of Nashville Mayor Rep. Andy Ogles says federal Homeland Security and Judiciary committees will investigate Nashville Mayor Freddie O'Connell for allegedly aiding illegal immigration. The move follows O'Connell's sharp criticism of a May ICE operation that arrested nearly 200 people, including some with gang ties. At a Monday press conference, Ogles announced that the Department of Homeland Security is probing whether O'Connell misused federal funds in a "criminal enterprise." See press conference footage here. Ogles claims the mayor's actions—and possibly city funds—may have supported criminal activity, but Metro officials deny wrongdoing. | Chilean Nationals Arrested for Burglaries Three Chilean nationals were arrested in Chattanooga after being linked to a string of home burglaries across Tennessee, Missouri, and California, authorities said on Monday. The suspects were caught with fake Peruvian IDs and high-value items like Rolex watches and jewelry. Their arrest follows reports of foreign gang activity in Middle Tennessee and a high-profile press conference where victims, including one Brentwood mother, shared accounts of home invasions. Local police are urging residents to stay alert as the investigation unfolds. | |
