Established in 2020, this fairly contemporary venue, Prithiraj is an Indian Restaurant based on Eccelsall Road, Sheffield which has a menu filled with Indian curry classics, as well as a number of specials. They also have a few house dishes developed by and named after some celebrities that pop by regularly, such as Dan Walker (Broadcaster & journalist that lives in Sheffield) and Mark Labbet AKA The Beast (Professional quizzer and TV Personality).
Over the years, Prithiraj has achieved 8 Restaurant of the Year awards AND through various #fundraising events, raised over £200,000 for The Children's Hospital.
If those facts aren't enough to draw your attention, then the food here definitely will. We really enjoyed everything that this restaurant had to offer and couldn't believe this was our first ever visit! Prithiraj is open 7 days a week, so you really have no excuse not to come and enjoy a fabulous meal here.
We enjoyed;
- Poppadoms & Pickle Tray - because you can't not start with this!️
- Mix Raj Platter; Onion Bhaji, Lamb Tikka, Chicken Tikka & Sheek Kebab - plenty for 2, and everything was spot on.️
- NEW Chicken Kofta Balls, coming soon - these were a great appetiser!
- Ben went with the Dan Walker Special, which was a keema based curry topped with a boiled egg. He decided to get diced lamb with this as well, but you can choose from chicken & prawn. A #flavoursome dish, very delicately spiced. I think Ben would have preferred something next level #hot (you know what he's like, lol).
- I chose something new for me, Chicken Jal Jhinga; with garlic, chillies, peppers, and caramalised onions. A little hotter than the Dan's Special, with a rich sauce. The perfect curry for me!
- Cheese naan (would have taken more cheese personally lol) & Pilau rice to share
We have a very good meal here, and we will be coming back for sure! Check out more about Prithiraj on their website here.
