Article Icon 1ICE Detains Driver in Deadly Semi-Truck Crash

The driver responsible for a fatal semi-truck crash in Conifer last year was taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials on Sunday.

In June 2024, a semi-truck rollover on Highway 285 spilled 47,000 pounds of steel pipes onto five cars, killing one person. Ignacio Cruz-Mendoza, the truck's driver, was arrested on charges of homicide-negligent manslaughter recklessly causing death and other charges.

According to ICE, Cruz-Mendoza illegally entered the U.S. from Mexico prior to 2002. Since then, he's been removed from the country 12 times.

Following his release from jail on Sunday, Cruz-Mendoza was immediately detained by ICE in the detention center's lobby. The agency says his removal to Mexico is pending.

Article Icon 1Vestibule Project Paused Amid Pushback

A plan to increase security at Denver's East High School by installing a secure vestibule has been postponed after receiving community backlash.

The $800,000 project includes an enclosed entryway where visitors and students deemed a safety risk could be screened. It comes two years after a student at East High shot and injured two administrators.

Opponents of the project call it "security theater," favoring strengthened disciplinary policies over physical changes and raising concern over damage to the school's historic building.

Construction on the vestibule was planned to start last week. Despite the delay, Superintendent Alex Marrero says it will be implemented by the summer of 2026.

After last week's bout of summer-like weather, April is starting with rain, snow, and chilly temperatures as an unsettled weather pattern moves into the state.

The first cold front moved in last night, dropping up to 12 inches of snow in the mountains and potentially affecting travel in the high country this morning.

Today, scattered showers and storms are expected on the plains and could transition to snow as temperatures fall this evening. Off-and-on showers and storms will continue through the rest of the week.

Another storm will develop this Thursday, bringing snow to the plains and possibly impacting the Rockies' home opener on Friday, with Denver looking at more showers and highs in the 40s.

Fake News vs. Reality: The Truth Behind the Tariffs

The media is focused on market chaos instead of the golden opportunity ahead. They claim the recent policies are reckless—that they'll tank the economy.

But here's what they won't tell you…

The current administration's tariffs aren't causing instability—they're exposing it.

Wall Street's so-called "strength" has been built on cheap money and overvalued stocks.

The recent AI stock crash, which erased $589 billion in a single day, proves how fragile this market really is.

Now, bold actions are being taken to restore America's economic independence, even if it means short-term backlash.

Wall Street doesn't like it. The media won't admit it. But the real danger isn't the policies themselves—it's the shaky foundation they're exposing.

It's no question that traditional retirement accounts are at risk. Market volatility could continue for months, and the wealth Americans have worked for could be wiped out overnight.

Luckily, a little-known IRS loophole remains open, designed to safeguard your savings and protect your wealth from the chaos in the markets.

America's wealthiest citizens have used this loophole for years. They aren't waiting for the next crash—they're preparing now.

We've detailed the wealth-saving, whispered secret of the financial elite and how hard-working Americans can use the same tactics to protect their retirement wealth.
