The 12 makeshift memorials that popped up around campus are also being removed and preserved. Students, staff, and neighbors volunteered to help with the clean-up efforts, preserving thousands of cards, signs, stuffed animals, and more. "Just seeing all the kind words, seeing all the kind things people were saying towards the families of the people who were lost and the students that were injured, those are the things that really make you believe that there's a lot of good out in the world right now," FSU senior Terryon Larkins said. Plans are underway for a more permanent memorial. | Flags to be Flown at Half-Staff Monday Gov. Ron DeSantis ordered all flags to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Monday to honor fallen law enforcement officers. DeSantis said he wanted to "recognize the bravery shown by these law enforcement officers and their service and sacrifice to our state." This is the fourth time this month DeSantis has called for flags to be at half-staff. Flags were also at half-staff after the shooting at Florida State University, the Pope's death, and the death of Manolo Reyes, a former Miami City Commissioner. | Bomb Threat Prompts Plane Evacuation A flight attendant discovered a bomb threat taped to a plane's bathroom door on Friday while departing from the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport. The pilot stopped the plane on the tarmac and evacuated the passengers. Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said the threat was "very broad," so all Allegiant flights at the airport were evacuated while the planes were searched. No explosives were found on any of the planes, but deputies are interviewing passengers on the plane with the bomb threat and have identified "some people that their actions were suspicious." The flight was headed to Cincinnati, Ohio, and it was postponed until Saturday morning. | | Flying together with our sponsor Does your neck hurt from all that stock market whiplash? On April 9th, markets threw a massive party after Trump paused some of the scariest tariff hikes. But on April 10th, markets plunged. Dow down nearly 1,000 points. Nasdaq tumbling. Why? The China trade fight didn't pause - it escalated. Badly. This kind of shockwave forces a hard truth: Relying on fragile global supply chains is a losing game. America must build critical tech here. Especially batteries. This is exactly why Next Thing Technologies exists. We've focused on non-lithium batteries since 2019. Our chemistry of choice after 4+ years of research? Sodium - abundant in the U.S., enough to last hundreds of thousands of years. So, when tariffs make lithium batteries impossibly expensive, our domestic solution becomes the obvious choice. Affordable. Secure. American-made. This isn't chance. It's strategy meeting the perfect moment. And right now, you can invest in our campaign - the only U.S. sodium-ion battery open to public investors. << CLICK HERE TO INVEST >> | | | ➤ Statewide: Florida's divorce rate has dropped by more than half over the last 30 years, from 6.3 per 1,000 people in 1990 to 3.1 per 1,000 in 2022.
