40 Arrested in Tren de Aragua Raid

Authorities arrested more than 40 suspected Tren de Aragua gang members and associates at an undisclosed Hays County residence yesterday morning.

A news release from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) said the agency's Special Response Team executed the arrests after receiving FBI intelligence about a potential gathering. The Hays County Sheriff's Office, ICE, and Homeland Security Investigations also participated in the operation.

Minors were reportedly among those arrested, and agents confiscated narcotics from the residence. State and federal charges are pending, according to the release.

Gov. Greg Abbott praised authorities for their "great work" on social media. "Tren de Aragua tried to set up shop in Texas. But we won't let this ruthless gang take root in our state."

84 Texans Make Forbes Billionaires List

Eighty-four Texans are among the world's 3,028 billionaires, according to the annual Forbes list of the world's richest people. Their combined worth is a staggering $966.1 billion.

Leading the way is Elon Musk, the world's richest person, who has accumulated $342 billion as the founder of Tesla, SpaceX, and artificial intelligence company xAI.

Walmart heiress Alice Walton is 15th on the list, with a net worth of $101 billion. Dell Technologies founder and CEO Michael Dell is No. 17 ($97.7 billion), Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is No. 127 ($16.6 billion), and Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta is No. 220 ($11.3 billion).

Other notable Texas billionaires include Fisher Investments founder Ken Fisher (No. 224, $11.2 billion), H-E-B chairman Charles Butt (No. 230, $10.8 billion), Kinder Morgan chairman Richard Kinder (No. 248, $10.6 billion), and former Mavericks owner Mark Cuban (No. 620, $5.7 billion).

Rangers Pitcher Throws a 'Maddux'

Texas Rangers pitcher Nathan Eovaldi threw a complete-game shutout Tuesday, leading his team to a 1-0 victory over the Cincinnati Reds a day after their lineup clobbered the Rangers in a 14-3 blowout.

Eovaldi threw just 99 pitches in the "Maddux"—a complete game of less than 100 pitches—a nod to the efficiency of Hall of Famer Greg Maddux, whose older brother Mike is the Rangers' pitching coach. It was only the 11th such game in the past five seasons.

Eovaldi's fastball was slower than normal, and he only threw it for 20% of his pitches, a career low. Of his 99 total pitches, 70 were strikes. He notched eight strikeouts while giving up four hits and no walks.

"He's as good as I've seen as far as a pitcher performing under pressure," said manager Bruce Bochy. "He's a tremendous competitor. And he wanted to finish that one."
