Article Icon 1The Flyover Celebrates 2nd Anniversary

Two years ago today, the first national edition of The Flyover was delivered to 47 people.

Our writing, editing, and proofreading staff consisted of just one person, Cole. Today, 10 editions of The Flyover reach more than 2.1 million readers daily, and we have a full team of writers, editors, and proofreaders across the country—along with sales, technology, and customer support staff.

We've learned a lot in two years, but as you can see in our first edition—the goal has always been to cover the day's news in a direct and unbiased way.

In 2024, we added our Rotator section along with our special coverage section (Olympics, Election, Holiday, etc.) We also listened closely to your feedback, and we worked hard to improve our news coverage.

Growth brought new opportunities. Texas got the first Flyover state edition in January 2024, and that's grown to over 300,000 readers. Since then, we've added eight more state editions, including Colorado on Nov. 12, 2024.

The Flyover's success is due to you, our readers, and we can't thank you enough for sticking with us.

We've got big plans for year three—including new state editions and a big new project that you'll hear more about soon. (Hint: it's a podcast :slightly_smiling_face: )

If you like The Flyover, find value in it, and appreciate our work—we would love for you to support us financially if you can. We know everyone isn't able, but your financial support means a lot to us. You can do that by clicking here. It's a huge help!

Article Icon 1Aurora Kidnapping Fugitive Arrested

Police have arrested the second of three fugitives wanted in connection with a violent home invasion and kidnapping in Aurora last year.

Breider Jhoan Ospino-Morillo, who was arrested in Michigan last Thursday, is one of more than a dozen men who allegedly kidnapped, beat, robbed, and tortured two Venezuelan immigrants on Dec. 17, 2024, at the now-shuttered Edge at Lowry apartments.

Aurora police sought charges against 12 suspects, all believed to be members or associates of the Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang. With Ospino-Morillo's arrest, 11 of them are now in jail.

Derek Maltz, acting administrator of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, says the agency now believes TdA's leadership is concentrated in Colorado, making the state "ground zero for some of the most violent criminals in America."

Article Icon 1 Plane Catches Fire at DIA

An American Airlines plane caught fire after making an emergency landing at Denver International Airport (DIA) on Thursday, sending 12 passengers to the hospital for minor injuries.

The plane, a Boeing 737-800, was bound for Dallas-Fort Worth from Colorado Springs Airport when it was diverted to DIA for an engine-related issue. Once it reached the gate, smoke and flames could be seen coming from underneath the aircraft. Watch video here.

All 172 passengers and six crew members were evacuated, many by climbing onto the wing and using emergency slides. The fire was extinguished soon after.

It's not clear when or how the fire started. The National Transportation Safety Board says a preliminary report will be available in 30 days.
