A judge ordered Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to pay more than $54,000 in legal fees for violating the state Open Records Act in the Donald Trump election interference case.

Willis' refusal of a records request by defense attorney Ashleigh Merchant was "not done in good faith" and "substantially groundless," Fulton County Superior Judge Rachel Krause said. Merchant represents former Trump aide Michael Roman.

Merchant reacted to the ruling by saying she is "proud that we have judges willing to hold people in power accountable when they ignore the law." Willis plans to appeal, a spokesperson said.

Willis was removed from the election interference case in December. A state Senate investigation into Willis' conduct in the case continues.

The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado touched down over the weekend in Paulding County, causing extensive damage in the Dallas area. The tornado produced wind speeds of up to 110 mph over a path of nearly 12 miles.

In Mitchell County, a tornado reduced a community center to rubble around 6 a.m. Sunday.

No one was reported injured in the Paulding County tornado. Multiple homes were damaged by fallen trees, and a gas station canopy was overturned.

Atlanta mostly avoided the worst of the same storm system, but fallen trees caused issues on Howell Mill Road and Northside Drive. Georgia Tech shared a video of the iconic Bank of America Plaza being struck by lightning.

The Sandy Springs Police Department introduced a novel K-9 officer: a spotted goat named Jumper.

In a social post announcing the addition, the department didn't clarify whether Jumper is an official mascot, a temporary visitor, or the star of a good old-fashioned police prank, leaving media with as many questions as answers.

The department's social post says only that Jumper will be trained in narcotics detection, apprehension, head-butting, and jumping. One follower suggested Jumper will be trained to catch "baaaaaaad people!"
