How to Help a Friend Through Grief "Walk to a wedding, run to a funeral", "You're close enough" and other valuable advice for being there for friends.
The "Low-Buy" Challenge Is a Money-Saving Strategy That Can Boost Your Mental Health I love this concept (especially making your own rules), and it feels way more doable than the "buy nothing" trend.
Recommendations
Read: The Lion Women of Tehran* by Marjan Kamali.
Watch: The second season of "Severance" on AppleTV (admittedly, my husband and I end most episodes saying "I don't understand what's going on") and "An Update On Our Family" a 3-part documentary on Max about family vloggers who were the source of intense internet fame, then intense internet hate.
Check Out: Unclaimed Baggage, an online store where you can buy items from unclaimed airline baggage. I haven't purchased anything, but it's wild to browse the items, which range from diamonds and designer handbags to fake eyelashes and $15 jeans. I'm not sure whether to feel sad or fascinated--or just grateful that these things are being re-homed instead of trashed.
*Instead of Amazon, I'm now linking to BookShop.org, which raises money for local bookstores (you can even choose your specific local bookstore when you're ordering if you'd like). Yay for supporting local!
💛 Thanks so much for being here!
If you're somewhere cold, stay warm.
And to everyone--stay well!
