Hi reader,
I've been on my weight loss journey since 2010—that's over a decade! In that time, I've learned so much about building a healthier lifestyle. So much, in fact, that I built an entire blog around these habits and routines. And in my shop, Reset & Flourish, you'll find eBooks, guides, and bundles designed to help you put them into action.
Now, let me be real with you… I'm far from perfect. There have been days, weeks, even months where I fell off track. But I always found my way back.
Before I dive into my favorite meal prep tips, meal planning hacks, and exercise routines, I want to share the most powerful weight loss tip I've learned.
Here it is…
👉 Control your hot zones.
Yep, this is hands down the best advice I can give you.
What are hot zones?
Hot zones are those moments when you feel stressed, overwhelmed, and like you're barely keeping afloat. In those moments, survival mode kicks in, and healthy habits? They go out the window.
Here's what I mean:
🔥 You get home from work exhausted, nothing's prepped, and the kids are starving… so you order pizza instead of making a healthy meal.
🔥 You planned to exercise in the morning, but your workout gear is missing, your phone's dead, and you're already running late… so you skip it.
🔥 You wake up to a messy house, can't find anything to wear, and have zero time to make breakfast… so you hit the drive-thru instead.
🔥 You want to cook fresh meals, but the kitchen is a disaster, the sink is overflowing, and laundry is piling up… so you make a box of mac & cheese and call it a night.
Sound familiar? Yeah, I've been there too.
Here's the thing—most of the time, it's not lack of willpower that keeps you from sticking to a meal plan or workout routine. It's the hot zones standing in your way.
If there's one thing I've learned over the last decade, it's that healthy choices are never made in the hot zone.
So here's what to do:
✅ Identify your hot zones. Pay attention to the moments that cause chaos and throw you off track.
✅ Create habits to manage them.
- A simple meal plan and meal prep can make dinner effortless after a long day.
- Laying out your workout gear the night before makes morning exercise automatic.
- Prepping breakfast on Sunday means you have healthy options ready to go.
- A quick evening cleaning routine keeps the house (and your mind) clear and focused.
See how small changes can make a huge difference?
When you control your hot zones, sticking to healthy habits becomes so much easier. And before you know it, those little shifts add up to big results.
