Today’s edition is brought to you by World Concern, working to alleviate the hunger crisis in Somalia. | | | Zelenskyy: Let Us Strike North Koreans President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged Western nations on Saturday to permit his forces to target the 8,000 North Korean troops inside Russia preparing to attack Ukraine. “America is watching, Britain is watching, Germany is watching," Zelenskyy said. "Everyone is just waiting for the North Korean military to start attacking Ukrainians." Zelenskyy wants to use Western-made long-range weapons to attack the North Korean troops, but U.S. defense officials have pointed out that Ukraine is already using its own long-range drones to hit targets in Russia. | Detective Convicted in Breonna Taylor Case Former Kentucky police detective Brett Hankison was convicted late Friday on federal charges that he used excessive force by firing into Breonna Taylor's home in a botched 2020 drug raid. Taylor, 26, was fatally shot, but not by Hankison, and he was not charged with her death. The ten shots Hankison fired into Taylor’s glass door and windows did not hit anyone, but some entered a next-door neighbor’s apartment. He was acquitted of violating the neighbor's civil rights. Police were seeking evidence in a narcotics investigation that targeted her ex-boyfriend, who lived at a different address. Taylor’s boyfriend fired a shot toward the front door because he thought intruders were breaking in, U.S. Attorney Merrick Garland has said. Two officers immediately fired 22 shots into the apartment, one of which killed Taylor. | NFL Week Nine Preview The Detroit Lions are off to a hot 6-1 start, but they'll surrender first place in the NFC North if they lose to the Green Bay Packers today. East Africa has just endured its worst drought in 40 years, leaving tens of millions without access to clean water, wiping out millions of livestock, and destroying crops. With domestic food production crippled, Somalia has relied heavily on imports—90% of its wheat coming from Russia and Ukraine—until those shipments stopped. Now, two in five children in Somalia suffer from acute malnutrition, and cholera is spreading in some regions. The food crisis, compounded by global humanitarian aid being redirected to Europe and the Middle East, has created a perfect storm, leading to a sharp rise in child malnutrition. Be Doers We’re asking the Flyover Community to join us in partnering with World Concern to help get emergency nutrition packs (a peanut paste fortified with nutrients), water, and hygiene products to those with the most need. Every $12 feeds a child for a month. We’re matching the first $3,000; just give through this link. | | | ➤ No. 4 Ohio State took down No. 3 Penn State 20-13 on Saturday in a huge Big Ten matchup.
