Article Icon 1 List: Holiday Weekend Options

Today is Black Friday, when businesses strive to make so many sales that they move solidly into the black. That means deals galore, as retailers try to lure you through the door.

If you'd prefer to avoid crowds and stores altogether, there's  no need for us to sit at home. Run Signup calls Thanksgiving "the biggest US running day of the year."

If you didn't get out yesterday (we at The Virginia Flyover love an 8K before the holiday feasting), there should be plenty of opportunities to run this weekend.

Or, if you prefer something less strenuous, stay inside and watch Virginia and Virginia Tech renew their annual rivalry, the Battle for the Commonwealth, on Saturday at 8 p.m.

There are two dozen high school football games today and tomorrow across the Commonwealth. Winners of this weekend's games will advance to the state semifinals.

Today's games begin at 1 p.m. with Briar Woods from Ashburn visiting Riverbend in Fredericksburg. Most of today's games are at 7 p.m.

There are seven more contests tomorrow, beginning with a contest between crosstown rivals Hampton and Phoebus at noon. Virginia high schools compete in six different classes.

The state semis are next weekend, Dec. 7, at local sites. Winners advance to the six state final games on Dec. 14.

The newest trend in real estate

Forget DIY renovations. Co-ownership could do to real estate what Uber did to taxis.

It's simple: buyers share ownership of a high-value asset, splitting costs while enjoying all the benefits. And it's spreading like wildfire – growing 21% per year.

Take vacation homes, for example. They're expensive to own and vacant most of the year. Co-ownership lets people fully utilize these properties at a fraction of the cost.

Companies like Pacaso are already leading the charge. Through their digital marketplace, users buy, sell, and finance vacation home shares. It's been a huge success. They've already handed keys to 1,500+ happy homeowners, earning Pacaso $100m in gross profits.

And for the first time, everyday investors can own Pacaso stock. Learn more about investing in Pacaso before their share price changes 12/5.
