Have you heard the news?
News just broke of a proposed bill that would make it illegal to sell Skittles in the state of California.
And not just the Skittles! If this bill passes, any product that contains these ingredients would be banned in California:
- Titanium Dioxide
- Red 3
- Potassium Bromate
- Propylparaben
- Brominated Vegetable Oils
The news stories aren't telling you that potassium bromate, propylparaben, and brominated vegetable oil are rarely used anymore by the food industry…
But you will still find Titanium Dioxide and Red 3 in THOUSANDS of products in U.S. grocery stores. Here's what you need to know about these two ingredients:
TITANIUM DIOXIDE is a whitening and brightening agent recently banned from food in Europe. Scientific studies show it may have genotoxic effects. This means it has the ability to damage your DNA, which could lead to cancer.
Food companies all over Europe swiftly removed this chemical from their products…but not in America. Because it's still allowed by the FDA here.
You'll find Titanium Dioxide in reportedly over 11,000 U.S. products. Even worse, some brands like Skittles sell their products overseas without Titanium Dioxide, while they continue to use it in the states.
I made a video showing the popular products that still contain this controversial chemical…
WATCH: See which popular products contain Titanium Dioxide!
Sadly many of these products target children:
- Little Debbie Honey Buns
- Kellogg's Frosted Pop Tarts (hidden under "color added")
- Totino's Pizza Rolls
- Hostess Donettes
- Post Oreo O's Cereal
- Pillsbury Toaster Scrambles
- Skittles
RED 3 is an artificial color that the FDA banned from cosmetics in 1990 after it was shown to cause cancer in animal studies. But they still allow it in our food!
Just because the government ALLOWS it doesn't mean companies should use it. Like all artificial colors, you won't find products with Red 3 in most other countries. This color is unnecessary and there are safer alternatives.

It's outrageous that food companies add Red 3 to products made for children - like Kellogg's Unicorn Waffles, Strawberry Nesquik, and Pediasure shakes.
Shouldn't food companies be held accountable for using these potentially cancerous chemicals in their products? It's outrageous!
These companies would be forced to remove Titanium Dioxide and Red 3 if the bill goes into effect in California, or otherwise take them off the market.
While the bill is pending, the best way to influence these companies to change is to stop buying their products. Also share this information with your loved ones. Please forward this email to your friends and family.
