Changes to health and safety statistics 2021

HSE's annual statistical release will be on Thursday 16 December 2021 at 9:30 am.

This has been preannounced on our
statistics release calendar, but if you are a regular HSE statistics user you may have expected our annual release around a month earlier. This is due to disruption with some data availability caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

No new statistics on working days lost, costs to Britain or violence at work will be provided, although other usual statistics covering work-related ill-health, injury and enforcement will be updated.

New estimates of work-related ill-health attributed to the coronavirus pandemic and work-related COVID-19 attributed directly to exposures at work (based on worker's own assessment) will be available.

Details of how the coronavirus pandemic has affected our statistics in 2021 will be set out in a technical note accompanying the release.
