We're fresh off a spring break trip and I wanted to share a travel routine that makes things so much easier for me when jumping back into life when we get home. I prioritize this every time we leave on a vacation and it's a favor to my future self I'm always super grateful I did.
Before I leave- I always clean out my fridge. I trash anything near-expired, give away things to neighbors and family that are still great but won't be before we get back, and do a quick wipe-down and tidy. The main shelves in my fridge are generally pretty empty when I'm done!
On the plane/car home- I place a grocery delivery order to be delivered shortly after arriving home. There's something so satisfying about fresh groceries delivered to your doorstep and an empty-ish clean fridge to put everything away in. It's so quick and easy to stock up and we hit the ground running.
I know that sounds super simple, but I look forward to that clean re-set every time we travel!
Speaking of travel, below you'll find The Good List, where nothing is from the kitchen this week, but instead -some of my summer travel favorites (while it's fresh on my mind) as we look forward to spring break and summer vacations!
Enjoy and eat something delicious this weekend!

The Good List is where I share the food, finds, and everyday favorites I'd tell you about if you were sitting at my kitchen counter!
I cannot live without this- I have it on subscribe and save and use it (almost) year-round. Recommended my my dermatologist and nearly 50K good reviews on Amazon. I've tried nearly every facial sunscreen on the planet- I'm so picky about it- and this is one of the only ones that doesn't make my skin feel sticky and gross. I apply it as the last step in my daily skincare routine!
Comfortable Swim
I kept getting ads for a couple cute swimsuits and kept being surprised when I realized they were from Lands End- which is where my Mom shopped when I was in middle school, but here we are. Turns out they had some things I loved! I like these Mid-kinis that have more coverage than a bikini, but a little less than a one piece or tankini. I bought this floral top and bottoms, and also this cute striped suit and both were incredibly comfortable and felt super secure when being active. I also like that the bottoms are high-waisted, but don't look like diapers (IYKYK)
The thing I miss most when we travel is my BED. I always make room in my suit case or carryon for a travel version of my favorite pillow from home (this is the full size version that I've used for years) because if I sleep poorly, everything suffers! I also love these small, super soft pillowcases that fit the travel size perfectly.
I'm very fair-skinned and love a self-tan. I've tried a lot of buildable daily glow lotions and this is a new favorite. This is a daily moisturizer that goes on clear. You can't mess it up because it just adds a tiny hint of color at a time and is buildable. I like that a little goes a long way- it goes on really sheer and doesn't feel sticky and weird. The smell is amazing, kind of citrusy.A lot of these types of lotions stink so I love the scent, but I did notice after the initial smell fades it does have a faint scent of that signature self-tan smell. But I think that might be impossible to avoid completely! I use the light but it also comes in medium.
I love an easy beach read and when I go on vacation I almost always and exclusively read an Elin Hilderbrand book- it's tradition I guess! I hadn't read this one yet and had to grab it because the main character is (wait for it....) a food blogger! I loved the concept of a her hosting a girls weekend with one close friend from each "era" of her life. That's actually a really cool idea. This book is coming out as an 8-episode limited series on Peacock this summer staring the one and only Jennifer Garner, so I thought it would be a fun read, and it was!
Some product links may be affiliate links, which simply means I may earn a small commission if you purchase through them. That said, nothing on The Good List is ever sponsored or part of a brand partnership - these are all things I buy myself and love enough to share with my friends (that's you!)
