These recipes are especially helpful during this time of difficulty, and also what is a time of fasting for so many. They are not too indulgent, but satisfy and can be shared.
Like so:
The beauty of my Date Nut Bread recipe lies in its simplicity. It comes together quickly (it's a "Quick Bread"!), and it's simply a comfort both to make and to eat. And to go with it, one of my little stories that populate my blog; this one is about "learning to fly solo," warm as a cup of cinnamon tea.
Zucchini Bread may not be in season, but I still make it all year. My recipe yields a loaf that's moist, tender, easy and just plain good.
Olive Oil Cake. It's a bare cake, very soft and bright. Take a little wedge to take the edge off.
Bake up one bigger loaf, or divide the batter among a few smaller pans. Wrap those up and hand them off to the many habibis around you (we all have many around us) who could use the hug of something YOU baked for them.
