This is truly one of my favorite cakes of all time. I can't wait for you to make it and put your own spin on the fruit flavors! If you come to my house for Easter, I'll be serving it with some of those hoarded huckleberries we use for only the most special of occasions. 💜
P.S. Hi, friends! I'm getting back into life after my kids were home on spring break last week.
I spent most of the week convincing them that YES, cleaning out the chicken coop was an acceptable alternative to going to Disneyland or Hawaii like all of their friends. Spoiler alert: my convincing did not work, but the chicken coop IS clean. 😜
We saw the Project Hail Mary movie last week, and wow, 10/10. Highly recommend! It's clean, funny, and heart-warming. Like, at one point, I turned to my daughter and whispered: "crying real tears over a space alien and nerdy astronaut was not on my spring break bingo card!" I was worried I wouldn't like it as much as I loved the audiobook, but it exceeded my expectations. I must add that sci-fi is not my usual genre (in fact, I stay far away from it), but this book and movie are the exception! Have you seen it??
Here's a peek at what's to come on the blog in the next few weeks: I'm actually posting a second recipe this week (I know! Who even am I??). It's a delectable side dish for springtime and Easter. Then, stay tuned for the most delightful spring salad, a cinnamon burst bread recipe that is bonkers good, and a one pot pasta that'll save your sanity any night of the week.
