| | December 06, 2025 | Edition #168 | Hey, Hoophead! | December has already had some fireworks, and we are not even a week into the final month of the year. Project B continues hauling their roster and adding pressure on the WNBA. We also finally received a hint about Caitlin Clark's participation in the new league. Meanwhile, in college basketball, two teams charged back to the winning column with thumping victories. |

| | | | | Project B Continues To Grow |
|
| | The Project B roster seems to expand every other week, and the clearest clue has been hiding in plain sight on their "following" list. Fans started spotting a pattern: anyone the league's social media accounts follow tends to sign shortly after. The latest name to reinforce that theory is New York Liberty forward Leonie Fiebich. | Project B officially announced the addition of Fiebich, who shared her excitement about joining "a platform that allows us to bring elite basketball to communities and fans all over the world." And that, really, is the appeal of Project B, isn't it? Players earn in the millions while traveling across the globe in a fast-paced, 'F1-style' format. | With Fiebich now onboard, Project B has signed 11 of the proposed 66 players. The list includes established veterans like Kelsey Mitchell, Nneka Ogwumike, Alyssa Thomas, and Jonquel Jones, alongside emerging stars such as Kamilla Cardoso, Fiebich, and Valkyries No. 5 pick Juste Jocyte. | And since the league follows Marine Johannes, there's a strong chance she could be announced down the line as well. | Sophie Cunningham is also among the most notable signees, bringing along her million-plus following across TikTok and Instagram. With that kind of momentum, the big question remains: could Caitlin Clark be next? Cunningham revealed the answer on her podcast, check it out. | Still, not everything about Project B is crystal clear. Can it draw fans immediately? Will an international schedule be easy for American audiences to follow? | What is clear, though, is this: Project B isn't going anywhere, and it only adds more urgency to where the WNBA currently stands with its CBA. |

| | | | West Virginia And South Florida Bounce Back |
|
| | South Florida is still adjusting to life after Jose Fernandez. Losing a longtime architect of the program was never going to be easy. And after a tough loss to No. 1 UConn, the Bulls didn't have much time to dwell on it anyway. Instead, they responded with a dominating 91–58 win over Houston Christian. | Under interim head coach Michele Woods-Baxter, five players found their way into double figures, with L'or Mputu setting the tone. She finished with a game-high 17 points and 12 boards for her second double-double of the season, all in front of a program-record crowd of 10,488. Watch the electric atmosphere at the arena. | Even so, expectations have shifted. South Florida entered the season as the American Conference favorite, but a 5–4 start has made that path a little more complicated. Still, if there's anyone built to steer this team through it, it's Woods-Baxter. | After 18 years inside the program, she knows exactly what it takes, and the upcoming stretch against No. 15 Vanderbilt and No. 3 South Carolina will give the Bulls the chance to prove it. | South Florida wasn't the only program in need of a reset, though. | No. 25 West Virginia came out ruthless against Mercyhurst, storming back into the win column with a dominant 97–51 victory at the Hope Coliseum. The 97 points were a season high for the Mountaineers, as five players had a field day with double-digit scoring. Jordan Harrison led the charge with 19 points. Just look at the ease with which she plays ball. | Meanwhile, Mercyhurst can't catch a break, remaining winless after 8 games. After back-to-back losses to Villanova and Ohio State, the Mountaineers needed a favorable matchup, and they made the absolute most of it. | |

| | Which Project B Signing Has Surprised You the Most So Far? | | Last Poll's Result: We asked, "Is the CBA Delay Dampening Your Excitement for the Season?" Unsurprisingly, 51% of you voted "We're With the Players, No Matter How Long It Takes." |
| | | Indya Nivar, North Carolina | The Tar Heels might have fallen to No. 2 Texas this past week, but Indya Nivar has been on another level. She recorded just the second triple-double in program history, absolutely dominating Thanksgiving Day in an 83–48 rout of South Dakota State. | Nivar scored 13 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and racked up 10 (!!) steals. It was almost like she could read minds. And she's not done yet: Nivar is tied with Notre Dame superstar Hannah Hidalgo for the most steals in the country (42). | Romi Levy, Virginia Cavaliers | While some players specialize in defense, others shine on offense. Romi Levy falls in the latter category. Against Longwood a couple of weeks back, she drove the Cavaliers with 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. | This performance made her just the third player in Virginia history to record a triple-double, joining Kymora Johnson and the legendary Dawn Staley, placing her firmly among the program's all-time greats. | Addy Brown, Iowa State | When you think about Iowa State this season, Audi Crooks is the first name that springs to mind, and for good reason, as she's averaging 27.3 points per game. But Addy Brown is the engine behind the offense, setting the stage for Crooks to shine. Against Norfolk State, Brown put on a clinic with 11 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds. It was the program's first triple-double in over a decade and only the fourth in school history. | However, Coach Bill Fennelly nearly robbed her of the milestone, trying to limit her minutes in a comfortable win. "You've got two minutes," he told her. Brown turned that challenge into a highlight, securing the triple-double in just under 26 minutes. | |

| | | It's clear Paige Bueckers has moved on from UConn, but the Huskies haven't left her heart. This offseason, she's been back at the program multiple times. And in her latest trip, she linked up with her former teammates. But there was one who was the happiest to see Paige there, and it wasn't Azzi Fudd. Check out which fan club Bueckers is supposedly the leader of. | The on-court action was only half the fun. Another respected alum, Aaliyah Edwards, made the trip, and the duo 'hacked' their coach Geno Auriemma's Instagram again! Together (or maybe it was Auriemma?), they posted this selfie on his story, and yes, it was as mischievous as it sounds. | If that felt familiar, it should. Back in April 2024, a sulky Auriemma posed with Bueckers, Edwards, and Nika Muhl in a now-iconic photo captioned with just one word: #hacked. Some things never change. |
