I am in awe of the feasts so many of you put together for your holiday gatherings. However large or small the group may be, I hear about the special care and attention you give to showing them the love at your table. Let's all remember (I include moi in this): our gift of gathering people need not be stressy or fancy or a huge time commitment. We all are touched by an invitation to come together, be it with apps around the kitchen island, a pizza order and homemade salad, or full-on cabbage rolls and talami bread...
Our menu this week is for the sweet goodness that is Lebanese Cabbage Rolls. These take a little doing, but when we take a few moments to read through the recipe, then take our time rolling, they come out so nicely. I keep looking on in awe (and mouthwatering envy!) as my friend Geralyn enjoys rolling batches for the holidays for her family. I realized I really want to unplug from my own world of busy and make this dish my family loves so much.
Scroll down to see the full menu! One thing I love about these cabbage rolls is how they simply roll up without needing to fold in the edges. One tip: take care not to overcook them, so they'll hold their shape.
Thank you for the wonderful shopping you are doing in my online shop! You helped us give on Giving Tuesday and you're letting me know about the special selections you're making for your people. We have orders coming in to send to large lists (10+ addresses); please let me know as soon as possible if you have a large order to send and we'll get it done for you!
Bless your hands,
Cabbage Rolls.
So savory and deliciously sweet with the cabbage. The tomato broth is light and easy. Use a dash of my 7 Spice or Dried Mint Saltin the filling and broth for classic Arabic food flavor.
This light loaf of bread is everyone's favorite! It makes a wonderful gift too, wrapped up in a beautiful bread towel. The recipe in my new cookbookis just a little different than the one on my site, and doesn't require a stand mixer.
Don't miss this special bread towel with my Lebanese Baking all-over pattern on it! The towel is giant, washes beautifully, and wraps a bread gift like none other.
