Spring break is in full swing, and AAA reports a sharp increase in travel by Georgians. According to the group's survey, 81% of Georgians planned to travel this year, a 48% increase from last year. Of those traveling, 55% are headed to a beach destination, AAA says. Last week, the police chief in Panama City Beach, Florida, said the community was inundated with spring breakers from metro Atlanta. One community expecting a surge of visitors is Tybee Island, where Orange Crush, a spring break gathering marketed primarily toward Historically Black Colleges and Universities, takes place on Saturday. | Teen Killed in Front Yard An investigation continued into the fatal shooting of 14-year-old Demarrion Carter, who was approached and gunned down in his front yard on Friday night in LaGrange. Carter was a longtime member of Empowerment 3D, a youth group focused on life skills and service.
