America's Favorite Vacation Spot

Florida has reached a historic milestone in tourism, securing a record 15.5% share of the domestic vacation market in 2024, the sixth time the state has broken its own tourism record.

This marks a nearly one percentage point increase from 2023 and further strengthens Florida's long-standing position as the top travel destination in the U.S., a trend that began in 2019.

The state's global tourism also remains strong. In the first two months of 2025, Canadian air visitation increased by 0.5%, outperforming the national trend, and overseas visitation increased by 6.5%, with gains from the United Kingdom, Brazil, and Argentina.

Floridians Lead 2028 GOP Polling

Although the 2028 presidential campaign has not officially launched, pollsters are already conducting surveys to gauge the popularity of potential Republican primary candidates.

A recent poll by Overton Insights places Gov. Ron DeSantis third in a hypothetical field, selected by 13% of Republican and Republican-leaning voters.

Vice President JD Vance leads among those voters with 36%, and the president's son, Donald Trump Jr., placed second at 31%.

U.S. Secretary of State and former Florida senator Marco Rubio earned 6% in the poll, based on 536 registered voters surveyed between March 24 and 28.

CAPE Canaveral Act Gains House Support

The Consolidating Aerospace Programs Efficiently at Canaveral Act, or CAPE Canaveral Act, aims to move NASA headquarters from Washington, D.C., to the John F. Kennedy Space Center. It has received bi-partisan support in the U.S. House.

U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D) joined U.S. Reps. Mario Díaz-Balart (R), Byron Donalds (R), and Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) as co-leaders on the legislation. Moskowitz stated that people come to the Space Coast from all over the world to see "where we launched mankind to the moon."

Proponents say the bill is about improving efficiency. Cape Canaveral is NASA's main launch site and also where cutting-edge research for America's space program is conducted.
