Cold weather alerts were issued across Tennessee due to multiple advisories as dangerously frigid temperatures settled into the region. Monday began with freezing conditions and life-threatening wind chills, with Crossville experiencing a wind chill as low as -13 degrees and Nashville at -8. The Arctic blast kept temperatures well below freezing, with Monday's high reaching only 23 degrees and Tuesday's high barely climbing to 29 in the Nashville area. Memphis also experienced subzero wind chills on Monday morning, with highs only reaching into the 20s by afternoon.
