| Friday, January 17, 2025 | | Good morning! On this date in 1821, the government of New Spain granted Moses Austin a permit to settle 300 families in Texas, initiating the process of Anglo-American colonization in the future state. When Austin died, his son Stephen became the leader of the effort. SpaceX launched its seventh Starship test flight yesterday, and while it didn't go as planned, it was quite a show! We're sponsored today by Frontieras, offering an investment opportunity in an untapped energy potential. The tunnel is approximately 4 feet wide and 6 feet tall, reinforced with wood beams, and equipped with electricity and ventilation. HSI said it appears to have been built in the past year. Authorities on both sides of the border have secured the tunnel and are working on identifying those responsible for building it. Yesterday, crews on the El Paso side were seen filling the tunnel with cement. "Transnational criminal organizations mistakenly think they can avoid detection by moving people and contraband underground. This recent discovery is a significant blow to their operations," said HSI Special Agent in Charge Jason T. Stevens. | Poll Reveals Texans' Top Issues A recent poll conducted by the Texas Politics Project at the University of Texas reveals what Texans want legislators to focus on during the current session. The poll surveyed 1,200 registered voters between December 9-17. The top issue among respondents was immigration and border security (22%), followed by the economy and high prices (16%) and public education (8%). Crime, property taxes, and health care were each the top priority for 4% of respondents. The poll found that 47% of respondents think Texas is headed in the right direction, while 38% say the state is on the wrong track. Comparatively, 31% of respondents said the U.S. is headed in the right direction, while 56% say the nation is on the wrong track, both slight improvements from October. The survey asked respondents about their opinions regarding several political leaders and celebrities, including Gov. Greg Abbott, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, Tesla owner Elon Musk, podcaster Joe Rogan, and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. | Starship Rocket Explodes SpaceX conducted the seventh test flight of its Starship megarocket yesterday afternoon, but it exploded over the Atlantic Ocean about eight minutes after launching from Boca Chica. The mission was the first with a payload, 10 replica Starlink satellites that the company intended to put in orbit. While the Super Heavy booster was successfully caught by the "chopsticks" arms on the launch tower for the second time ever, the rocket itself "experienced a rapid unscheduled disassembly during its ascent burn," according to the company. Videos on social media appeared to show pieces of the rocket burning up as they entered Earth's atmosphere over Turks and Caicos. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk shared one such video, commenting, "Success is uncertain, but entertainment is guaranteed!" | | Flying together with our sponsor $2.1T in Untapped Energy Potential – Invest Before They Change the Share Price After centuries of burning coal, most people still haven't caught onto its true value in the markets. Frontieras North America did... and their breakthrough patented technology has unlocked at least 8 new and profitable ways to use coal, for a combined $2.1T market opportunity. The best part? Their technology is unleashing what people are calling a "Rockefeller Moment" in the energy space—and you still have the chance to become an early investor. It's similar to when John D. Rockefeller commercialized oil refining technology, but for coal. Their tech is simple: rather than burning coal and wasting trillions of dollars in resources locked within it, their process extracts those resources for use in the global commodities markets: Coal is the most abundant energy resource in the world… and like Rockefeller's oil refining technology, Frontieras' patented technology is set to completely redefine the way the world uses coal. Their technology is patented across 85% of the world's coal markets. If they capture just 2% of the market, they have a roadmap to achieve a $1T valuation. They'll be building their first $850m facility in West Virginia soon, followed by more facilities across North America. Become an early shareholder while you still can – don't miss your chance to invest in the "Rockefeller Moment" in the energy space before Frontieras' share price changes on January 20th. | | | ➤ The Texas Sunset Advisory Committee, a legislative oversight board tasked with periodically reviewing state agencies, has recommended the closure of understaffed jails and prisons.
