It's always a thrill to see the Mediterranean Diet get it's #1 ranking as the best way to eat a healthy diet the last many years. The little "yes!" I feel is because the Lebanese have long known that our food provides everything we need to eat well and be healthy.
Do you think of Lebanese cuisine when you hear that the healthiest way to eat is the Mediterranean diet? Lebanon is on the Mediterranean Sea, which contributes to the country's remarkable soil, air, and overall terroir. But it's more than just the nutrition of Lebanese cuisine that makes it so good for us. The way we eat means just as much as what we eat. That is: we cook, bake, and eat with relish and pleasure, food made and shared with the people we love.
I enjoyed pulling together a list of 25 Easy Mediterranean Diet Recipes for all of us as a handy way to find favorites and new dishes to try. The array, the stunning variety of options here are just the tip of the iceberg of the many many ways to eat deliciously healthy food that nourishes and brings joy to our days--and to our families and friends. Nothing better than sharing a great meal together, however simple it may be, and also passing along the culinary traditions we cherish.
