Denver police have arrested a suspect in connection with a deadly stabbing spree along Denver's 16th Street Mall over the weekend.

The assaults, described as unprovoked and random, began on Saturday evening. Three stabbings took place within a 42-minute span, resulting in the death of a woman and injuries to two men.

A fourth stabbing on Sunday night near 16th and Market Street resulted in another fatality. The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Elijah Caudill, was apprehended near the scene of the final attack.

The woman killed on Saturday has been identified as a flight attendant for American Airlines, reportedly visiting the mall during a layover.

A lawsuit has been filed against the Town of Palmer Lake and its officials over plans to annex land for a proposed Buc-ee's gas station near I-25 and County Line Road.

Nonprofits, including Integrity Matters and Westside Watch, allege improper annexation, open meeting law violations, and other governance issues.

The controversial proposal has faced significant public backlash since its inception, with additional complaints sent to Attorney General Phil Weiser requesting intervention.

The Palmer Lake Board of Trustees voted 4-1 in December to declare the land eligible for annexation, sparking public outcry. The town defended its process, stating it complied with legal requirements and ensured public participation.
