| Blackburn Proposes Anti-Trafficking Bills Tennessee Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn introduced a legislative package last week comprising four bills aimed at stopping human trafficking. A part of the package is the SAVE Girls Act, which seeks to establish a federal grant program to combat the smuggling and trafficking of children and young women. The End Child Trafficking Now Act would impose sentences on those convicted of trafficking minors to up to 10 years in prison. Blackburn's initiative aligns with National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, observed on Saturday, Jan. 11, and National Human Trafficking Prevention Month, recognized throughout January. | Officers Use Snowy Tracks to Find Fugitive Snowfall aided law enforcement in southeastern parts of the state in capturing a fugitive from Georgia on Sunday morning. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office reported receiving an anonymous tip around 8 a.m. on Sunday that Brandon Frady, who was wanted in Georgia for charges including aggravated assault and simple battery, was at a nearby home. When deputies arrived to investigate, Frady was no longer there. Additional deputies and a K-9 unit soon discovered fresh tracks in the snow and followed them up a steep ridge to find Frady hiding behind a fallen tree. Frady was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center.
