Trump Meets With Trudeau

President-elect Donald Trump met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at Mar-a-Lago on Friday evening, where they discussed tariffs, drug policy, and immigration.

The meeting came after Trump signaled potential 25% tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada until the countries stop the flow of drugs and illegal immigrants into the United States.

Trudeau has cited the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement negotiations as a sign he believes he can work with Trump on trade and avoid a trade war.

Mexico and Canada are the second and third top suppliers of goods to the U.S., accounting for nearly 30% of trade volumes. Canada sends about 75% of its total exports to the U.S.

Heavy Snow, Frigid Temperatures on the Way

The first big snowfall of the season is forecast to bring 2 to 3 feet of snow to towns along lakes Erie and Ontario through Monday.

An Arctic outbreak of cold air will expand south and east and bring dangerously cold wind chills into the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest.

Several locations in Michigan and Ohio have recorded snowfall totals between 24-30 inches.

The Buffalo Bills called for volunteers willing to shovel snow at Highmark Stadium, where more than 2 feet of snow is possible before Sunday night's game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Syrian Military Confirms Rebels Enter Aleppo

The Syrian military said on Saturday that dozens of its troops had been killed during an insurgent attack in northwestern Syria.

Rebels entered the government-held city of Aleppo led by the Islamist Hayat Tahrir al-Sham in a surprise attack that began earlier this week.

Syria's armed forces said in a statement Saturday that it has redeployed and is preparing for a counterattack to absorb the large attack on Aleppo and save lives.

There are currently about 900 American soldiers in Syria as part of a mission to defeat the Islamic State.
