Article Icon 1Fuel Pipeline from MCO to Port Canaveral

Port Canaveral is working with the Florida Department of Transportation to study the feasibility of a fuel pipeline between the port and Orlando International Airport (MCO).

Port Canaveral moves over 3 million tons of fuel across the state annually. A similar pipeline, already in operation, connects Port Tampa Bay and MCO.

A second pipeline would help ensure uninterrupted fuel supplies to the airport and other parts of Central Florida after hurricanes and other natural disasters.

The port is projected to generate more than $200 million in revenue by 2025, with plans to reinvest a significant portion of that money into further port upgrades.
